Federal Activities Inventory Reform Act of 1998 (FAIR)

On October 19, 1998, President Clinton signed into law the “Federal Activities Inventory Reform Act of 1998” (FAIR Act). The FAIR Act directs Federal agencies to identify their activities that are performed by Federal employees but that are not inherently Governmental (such as commercial activities). Information about the FAIR Act is available on the U.S. Office of Management & Budget (OMB) Web site at http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/procurement/fair-index.html. For information about the Institute's commercial activities, contact the Office of Administration and Budget.
