America’s collections are for everyone. They are
discovered billions of times a year in libraries and
museums across the country. They enlighten and
inspire all of us. Yet they are at risk.

Connecting to Collections was an IMLS initiative to aid libraries and museums in their efforts to provide the best possible care for the collections. Opportunities for continued involvement in Connecting to Collections include:

• Connecting to Collections Statewide Implementation Grants
• Comprehensive online resources from the initiative's past events and programs.
• A new online community, created by IMLS and Heritage Preservation, featuring resources, a discussion board, and access to webinars and other opportunities for discussion that is continuing the community of practice forged by the initiative, www.connectingtocollections.org.

IMLS, in partnership with Heritage Preservation and the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH), presents a webinar series based on Connecting to Collections: A Call to Action. These six webinars are free of charge to staff of museums, libraries, and archives who seek to enhance collections care at their institutions. Read more.

Report to the Nation

IMLS has released Connecting to Collections: A Report to the Nation. The report describes how IMLS engaged dozens of public and private partners to reach thousands of museum and library professionals with resources and technical assistance to care for
endangered collections.
